Message from the Dean

The College of H&A leverages the arts and humanities to explore important questions of our time. Our programs provide students opportunities in Music, Art, Design, Film and Theatre, English, Philosophy, World Languages, Linguistics, and Humanities.

We offer programming through the Hammer Theatre that expands our students’ experiences in their studies. Highlights include our Frankenstein initiative, in which disciplines from across our college engage with this timely 200-year old novel. See recent work by faculty, plus current reflections on the importance of Frankenstein for our time.

Our faculty are actively involved with our Deep Humanities & Arts initiative where students and faculty are interrogating issues of ethical responsibility, the power of the aesthetic, and the meaning of the “human” in a technology-filled world.
